Digital cameras take pictures of light. But it doesn't stop there. Lurking beneath the continuous spectrum of visible light at the red end of the rainbow, photons are still bouncing around, slamming off things and ready to have their picture taken. These photons are actually high frequency heat. Our eyes don't respond to them so we don't see heat directly.
